Ruben Toledo for Vogue Nippon

Ralph Lauren Spring 2009

Anna Sui Spring 2009

Ralph Lauren Spring 2009

Hermes Spring 2009

Ruben Toledo has always been one of my favorite illustrators, ever since I started collection his Nordstrom ad's when I was younger. He has such a distinct style that you instantly know a Toledo when you see one. Recently Toledo paired with Vogue Nippon to create these fashion postcards capturing the fabulous moments of the traveling fashionista. With the exception of the Anna Sui, I'm really not a fan of the featured looks, but boy does Toledo make them look good!

Featured Designer: Dirty Story Jewelry

Snakeskin Cuff $27

Zebra Cuff $25

Floral Silhouette $25

I came across Dirty Story Jewelry on Etsy and I mean seriously, I think the pictures above speak for themselves. The featured artist creates amazingly beautiful and quite unique brass cuffs featured above. My favorite (I think) is the flower silhouette, although I love them all. I might need a few of these in my ever growing collection.

Be sure to check out their shop on etsy for even more gorgeous finds at very affordable prices, ranging from $15-$35.

Featured Artist: Laurel Denise

Cinderella; $20

Happiness & Sunshine; $20

I Believe; $20

Originally a jewelry designer, Laurel Smith is the face behind Laurel Denise featured on Etsy. I came across her fabulous new screen prints over on AphroChic (take a moment to check out this San Francisco based blog if you can) and knew right away that I had to re-post. Each print features a inspiration quote from Laurel's most popular styles from her jewelry collection. The quotes featured are so very "FWD" (fairytale wishes & dreams) and so very lovely. Who wouldn't love to have one of these hung on their wall? I personally would love the "Cinderella" one, go figure...

Please check out the Laurel Denise Etsy shop here and her blog here.

Look Book: Prada, Fall/Winter 2009

I came across the Fall/Winter 2009 look book for Prada and was blow away. Although when it comes to Prada creativity is always at the forefront, but the layout of this look book is like nothing I have ever seen before. They are a bit darker than my usually taste, but I feel so drawn to them and inspired by the overall effect. I love the collage technique used on each photo! I want to create some Prada inspired collages of my own. Doesn't that sound like fun?

July 2009: Anthropologie Catalog

"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance."

-Carl Sandburg (via Anthro catalog)

Last week I received my NEW July 2009 Anthropologie Catalog and once again, they did not disappoint. Not only were there many fabulous pieces that I HAVE to have. Like this fabulous polka dot dress, amazing semi sheen sheath, blueberry skirt and stunning trench coat. But, as usual the photography and styling of the overall catalog is what blew me away. I especially LOVED the use of shadows and how they were incorporated along with the models. Note to self: must one day have photos taken of myself with this same shadow effect.

Have I mentioned before that I absolutely (heart) shadows? They always bring such a mysterious, magical, child like quality to a photo. As much as I like to play around with the use of shadows in photography I have never even though of this. Thanks again Anthro for being such an inspiration!

Sunday Morning Bloom's 7/26/09

Photos Via my iPhone

Last week I discovered the most lovely little cafe, ever to exist in Midtown New York. More details will follow later about the cafe, as I plan to start a new feature on my blog where I will highlight wonderful, lovely little places like this that I find throughout New York City. How exciting does that sound? Each place will be something whimsical with its own special little touch. My hopes are that all of you can enjoy the little treasures right along with me. Would you enjoy a weekly or monthly feature highlighting "Hidden Treasures of New York"?

Well for now, its back to the blooms! Above is two lovely little sunflowers on display in glass milk jugs; my absoult favorite way to display flowers... that and old coffee cans =)

Hope your enjoying your Sunday... it looks like it might start raining here soon.

xoxo,
Fallon
