Christmas Memories... Dec. 1993

Me... 1993! =)

One of my favorite things to do while I'm spending time back home is going through old pictures. No matter how many time I have seen them I still get excited going through and reliving all of the wonderful memories. This picture above was from Christmas 1993. I swear I could still pull that outfit together to this day from items I currently own in my closet. How does the saying going... "Fashion fades, style is eternal" -Coco Chanel. Well in this case... take a picture and the fashion lives on forever. I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas. I would like all of you to know how grateful I am to have you as readers. This little blog of mine has brought me such joy in since the time I started it. With each new comment and each new follower I am filled with endless amounts of inspirations.

Thank you all for not only joining me for the ride... but inspiring me along the way. May 2010 be a blessed year for us all.

Merry Christmas!

Fallon

p.s. Sorry for the poor quality of the pic... My scanner was not working so I took a picture of the photo with my iphone. Hopefully I will be able to upload a better quality image soon.

Below are more images from my favorite window displays in NYC... Bergdrof Goodman. Christmas time in New York City really is a magically time. I only wish I could bottle it up and share it with all of you. So below is my small little attempt to give you a peak into my world.

Enjoy!

Anthropologie, Rockefeller Center- Christams 09

As you all know I have a great deal of love and respect for the window displays at Anthropologie, and they never seem to disappoint come Christmas time. The pictures above and below were taken on my iphone (so I apologize in advance that the quality is not the greatest). Yesterday I flew out to California for Christmas (thanks to a certain special someone) so Monday of this week I decided it was time to snap out of my bah-humbug mood and get into the Christmas spirit. So after work I first wandered the outdoor shops at Bryant Park, then headed up town where my first stop was Bergdrof Goodman (pics to follow shortly. If you are ever in NYC for the holidays there windows really are a must. Then I walked to Rockefeller center (a favorite destination this time of year) to check out "the tree" and all of the festivities. After that I had to go by Anthro... but unfortunately it was already past 10pm and they were closed... but fear not I still got to enjoy the windows with is always one of my favorite parts.

Holiday puzzles and tea by the fire anyone?

Milk and Cookies Anthro Style!!! I decided I want too make these to put by my fireplace next year for Santa ;)

And how lovely they make a overflowing fridge look!

This was one of my favorites... Who wouldn't want to own a super cute vintage pink and be surrounded by all that snow?! I know I sure would!

Happy Holiday's Everyone!

One Lump or Two?

Typically I don't take sugar in my tea nor coffee... but it these sugar cubes were offered I might have to make an exception. Are these not the most adorable thing you have ever seen?! I can picture them featured on the tables of a whimsical wedding or a Sunday afternoon tea party. Check them out for yourself over at Cox & Cox along with many other little lovelies.

Silver & Gold...

Silver and gold, silver and gold,
Ev'ryone wishes for silver and gold.
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth.
Silver and gold, silver and gold
Means so much more when I see
Silver and gold decorations
On ev'ry Christmas tree.

Marvels & Wonders: Photo Styling

While browsing the recently updated Anthropologie site I couldn't help but be completely infatuated with their Marvels & Wonders feature. Not only is everything featured fabulous, but the true shinning star is the stunning styling of each photo. Just when I thought I had the whole Anthro aesthetic figured out they go and surprise me with something beyond my imagination. With is why I love them oh so much!!!

Below are my favorite Marvels & Wonders...

Now that I am so inspired by this styling technique I cant wait to try and recreate it myself! Do you think they photo-shopped they two images together or actually had the sketches and styled them with the items?? It almost looks like the sketches are done on a foam cork board but I could be wrong. Have any of you done something like this before?

"My Year in Paris with Christian Louboutin"

Oh Barbie, what a fabulous life you lead. You've successfully dabbled in just about every professional career possible, even running for President of the United States. You've traveled the world and experience all of the major fashion moments of our time. You have been dressed by some of the most fabulous designers to ever live. Christian Dior, Diane Von Furstenburg, Vera Wang, & Karl Lagerfeld, to name a few. Then on top of it all you now spent the past year of your life in Paris with the infamous Christian Louboutin in celebration of turning 50. I mean seriously could your life get more glamorous?!

If you ever decide that you need a break from it all, please give me a call. I would gladly step in and resume your schedule accordingly.

(Wallet Friendly) Wish List: F21 Nov 09

While the economy is seeing a slight improvement I feel like the term wallet friendly is here to stay. Consumers overall have become smarter about their purchases and are choosing to spend there money more on investment pieces. But a girls gotta eat.. so to speak. So when it comes to fashion trends I personally love turning to F21, Zara, H&M and TOPSHOP for wallet friendly options that bring you instant gratification.

Below is my current Wish List at F21. All items featured are UNDER $30! Yes, I said thirty dollars and under! Now I'm not saying these items will last you a lifetime, but I have found if you take care of your purchases (even from F21) they will last just about as long as you need them. Case in point... I have a fabulous corduroy blazer that I purchased from f21 back in 2002 and still wear it come Fall to this very day!

Basketweave Trim Tunic $11.50

Grommet Knit $17.50

Crep Chiffon Beaded Top $24.80

Urban Studded Booties $28.50

Dolman Shimmer Sweater Tunic $22.80

Leatherette Shingle Skirt $22.80

So go out, spend a little money and if you start to feel bad just reminder yourself you doing the economy good. What are some of your go to stores and or websites for wallet friendly fashions?? Do share...

xoxo,
Fallon
