Custom Pillows Anyone...

So decorating my apartment is a never ending task... especially when your as creative and eclectic with your decorating style as I am... there is ALWAYS something new (our in my case vintage) out there that you have to have. So far my living room is coming along just the way I had hoped (please excuse the slight mess, I had just purchased three round tables Cira 1960's at the Brooklyn Flea and was so excited, that I had to take pics ASAP)

Of course I still want a rug for the floor and pillows galore. Along with more art work on the walls, but my original vision is starting to come to life, which is a wonderful feeling. From this view you can see I have two vintage sketches which I love, one being the Eiffel Tower, the other being the Notredame Cathedral, both from Paris, France. A close up will follow as soon as I get back to Brooklyn.

Now as I mentioned there are still many things I want to do when it comes to decorating my apartment but the first on my list will be making customer pillows for my living room. An easy enough task you say... but the real challenge is finding the right fabric. Well as luck may have it, I came across this fabric while reading one of my favorite blogs Madebygirl and I think it will work absolutely wonderfully, as the colors play off of all of the existing colors in my room.

Below is a pic of the fabric I will be ordering....

Mod Green Pod- Butterfly Jubilee $39.75 per yd

Isnt it lovely.... I think the yellow, white and pink will play perfectly off of my mellow yellow walls with white crown molding, my not so white anymore couch and my pleasantly pink curtains. :)

Don't worry once there made I will update you with new pics.

Promise!

Expand your mind...Jackie O Style

"Jackie O", Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis to be exact was an extraordinary women... one that I, and many others admire greatly still to this day. She is a true American Icon and will never be forgotten.

What Would Jackie Do, An Inspired Guide to Distinctive Living is an amazing book I picked up about 4 years ago
and have revisited in my recent trip back home for the holidays. One of the topics I found very interesting was Jackie's reading list. I myself am always looking for new things to read and discover... which is why I plan on checking out all of the below. I can see it now... a rainy Sunday spent at the New York Public Library completely losing myself in one of Shakespeare Sonnets or a poem by Emily Dickerson. Aww.... just the thought brings a smile to my face. What a perfect "Sunday Afternoon".

Please read the list below and Enjoy! Let me know what you think. Also look for a personal list from yours truly, including my favorites, ones I'm currently reading and one's I'm looking forward to, coming in January 2009.

Jackie's Reading List

Wishing, Hoping, Dreaming

photo credit: In Dreams, Riley Rican

Wishing
Hoping
Waiting
...for the day to finally come.

Dreaming
Praying
Contemplating

...that this feeling never to ends.

Missing
Longing
Fantasizing
...till the day I see you again.

1st Stop... Butter Lane

I return to NYC January 5th, 2008 and after reading Cupcakes Take The Cake posting today, featuring Butter Lane Cupcakes and their yummy sounding Pumpkin Spice Cupcake... I MUST taste one for myself. I must admit Butter Lane really "had me at hello" when I clicked on their website and Sympathique by Pink Martini was playing... *love, love, LOVE*

Now I can only hope their cupcakes live up to the whimsical image that their website portrays... although I'm pretty confident they will.

YUM!!!

The Path To Somewhere

Feeling too much
Just another girl
Who fell for your touch
When I'm with you I forget
All who where there before
There's a sparkle in your eyes
That's hard to ignore
Yet as I look deeper I see
The darkness and the pain
Of a man without a clue
Of how to stop the rain
Two clearly different paths
Placed in front of you
Either one will change your life
No idea which one to choose
Emotions taking over
The moment is fading away
Hold tight and listen close...
To what your heart has to say

To Women Everywhere...

Banish the black, burn the blue and bury the beige....

For now on girls, THINK PINK!

I pretty much love any film that stars Audrey Hepburn... but I would have to say that Funny Face is one of my favorites. Although the above clip does not feature the lovely Audrey, in my opinion it is still one of the best scenes in the film.

Enjoy!

Magical Situation

photo credit: rachel a.k. via flickr

Collarbone kisses
Just like the middle of July
A heart that truly listens
Stars up in the sky
Hiding beneath the covers
Trying to subside
This feeling fully consuming
My mind, my heart,
On an emotional ride
Sinking fast...
No chance of being saved
Looking out for only myself
But its you that I crave
Timing can bring harm
to even the most magical situation
Yet amongst the chaotic mess...
Love is God's shinning creation

When we land upon the moon...

"I wouldn't be here, if it wasn't for you"

Introducing the new Ad for Victoria Beckham's, "The Dress Collection":

Not only would I do just about anything for #8, 9 & 10 of "The Dress Collection" by Victoria... but I am also absolutely in love with the new ad promoting the collection and even more so in love with the song accompanying it! Although, I'm usually not a fan of celebrity fashion "designers", I must say that I am impressed. I so wish I could have a chance to play hide-n-seek in the DVB enchanted castle. So whimsical...so chic... so posh!

*And they lived happily ever after...*

Once upon a time, In a far away land...

Welcome to my own "Fairytale Wishes & Dreams". I created this blog to share with the world the magically, whimsical world that I live in... or at least "think" I live in. I will share with you my love of fashion, art, design, music, culture and all things lovely. This world is a crazy place, but I am a firm believer in the saying that life is what you make it and that everything really does happen for a reason.

I am a very creative person who thinks that life is just not worth living with out wishes and dreams. Anything is possible and don't every let anyone tell you otherwise. There is nothing wrong with creating a little fantasy in your life... after all, you never know, your Fairytale Prince just MIGHT show up one day and sweep you off your feet... but regardless as long as you're creating the fantasy you'll never be too far from a "Happily Ever After"

xoxo
