The Wait is Over... MADMEN Season 4 Premiere TONIGHT!

I can hardly contain my excitement for the MADMEN season 4 premiere TONIGHT on AMC. In honor of the season premiere I wanted to share with all of you, MADMEN meets Barbie.  How I missed this when it debuted earlier this year, I have no idea.  The barbie versions of Betty, Don, Joan, and Roger look absolutely fab and right on character. Now if only I could justify spending $75 each on a Barbie Doll...

I Love Hue; Olive Chic

Sequin bustier cotton dress, Alice & Olivia, $495
Encore L'Amour silk-chiffon bra, Mimi Holliday by Damaris, $90
Encore L'Amour silk-chiffon thong,
Mimi Holliday by Damaris, $60
Color me Couture, Lorac Eyeshadow Palette, $37

I'm totally loving the hue Olive right now... maybe its all the military influences seen on the Fall runways, but I simply just can't get enough.  "I Love Hue" is a new feature you can come to expect on FWD where I will feature an outfit centered around a Hue I'm totally loving at the moment.  And since the things I love are constantly changing,  I Love Hue will be a very random feature that may happen several times a month, but at the very least, you can come to expect it once a month.

Let me know what you think.  What's your favorite hue at the moment?

50 years, 50 Great Moments for Woman

In celebration of the 50 years since The Pill was introduced to woman Daily Candy and Bayer's Celebration of Woman's Empowerment have teamed up to celebrate Woman everywhere.  They ask the questions, "what will you do?", "what are your dreams?" as part of a contest to help make them a reality.  Unfortunately the contest has come to an end, but I still think these are questions that we as woman should be asking ourselves everyday.   I can't wait to see the results of the contest.  For no check on the lovely illustrated timeline of some amazing accomplishments made by woman in the past 50 years.  Above are a few of my favorite... Strawberry Shortcake via Lulu Magazine

Here is another oldie but goodie that I found in my pending post folder.  All images via LuLu Magazine.  I believe it was from the May/June issue.  Above are a few images from a spread inspired by Strawberry Shortcake.  These four were my favs!

Stripped tights anyone?

I wanna be... B.B. Homemaker

So I know I'm a tad late on letting all of you know how much I LOVE Beyonce's new Video "Why Don't you Love Me", I mean lets face it, I have been a bit late on everything lately.  I could give you the same excuses.. work is crazy, yadda, yadda, yadda.  But instead of doing that I'm jsut going to stuck it up and still post all of the fabulous things I have been meaning to, those things that have been piling up in my inspiration file on my desktop in hopes that you will still love it.  I mean look at the bright side, by now you probably forgot all about this video and now its like I'm bringing it back, or so I hope.

So back to the topic at hand. Beyonce introduces her 2nd or is it 3rd (I can't keep up) alter ego, B.B. Homemaker in her latest video "Why Don't You Love Me" and I must say... the song I could take it or leave it but the VIDEO I could watch over and over again.  I love the 1950's sitcom theme complete with 50's housewife, vintage cars, voice overs and theme music.  I simply can't get enough.  I'm loving the look!

Click HERE to see the video!

It may be too early to say, but I think I may have to channel my inner B.B. Homemaker come Halloween this year.  What do you think?  I could totally pull it off right?

Sunday Morning Bloom's: 7/18/10

I know its been quite some time since I have done a "Sunday Morning Bloom's" or "Sunday Afternoons" post but I'm hoping to have them reinstated starting now. You can say this photo above inspired me to do so, which is why I'm sharing it with you today.  I'm smelling a DIY in my near future, involving hanging glass jars and single stem flowers.  Ahhh... I love Sunday's!

What Home Means To Me...

You may or may not of heard about Pin It Forward, the latest blog mash up hosted by Victoria of sfgirlbybay. I'm so excited to be apart of this mash up and share with you a little bit of what home means to me.  By using the latest craze to hit the blogospher, pinterest, I have created a pinboard of visual images that represent "home". I haven't been able to use pintrest as much as I would like but so far the site is absolutely fabulous.  I have been a long fan of tumblr and still do like the randomness but the fact that you can create different inspiration boards and organize all on one site is fabulous!  If you would like try pinterest, let me know and I will send you an invite.

So with out further a due... what exactly does home mean to me? Well, let me see, for one home is my sanctuary. Living in NYC its nice to be able to come home and feel like you are escaping the outside world and entering one that is entirely your own. Home is where I can dream, relax, create and be inspired.  Home is love. Home is a reflection of who you are and who you want to be.

I recently moved into a new apartment rather quickly, one that is much smaller than my previous one. So its rather appropriate that I am now thinking about what home means to me.  At the end of the day it doesn't matter where you are but what matters most is how you feel when you are there.

To see the rest of my board click here:

And click here to view my other boards I have created so far:

As part of "Pin It Forward", please be check out what home means to Eyes of Ab and on Tuesday 6/8 be sure to stop by VintageYankee as well!

J'adore Dior, Resort 2011

Sugar pie, honey bunch.... I think I love you!  Dior's Resort 2011 collection is giving me everything.  I know its not exactly innovative, but I just can't get enough of the 60's american chic influence. Everyone single one of these looks would fit perfectly into my wardrobe. One of each please!

My personal soundtrack for this collection...

I am giddy with excitement to show you this video as I absolutely adore it and I think you might too! I came across it on the Lulu Magazine Website under your "scrapbook" section and knew that I must share. The video titled Frankie & Johnny (No wonder I love it, my little pup is named Frankie) created by animator Isobel Knowles from Melbourne Australia, no relation to Beyonce. Knowles was commissioned by Lulu Magazine to create a animation to play alongside a song by Autosharp instructor Harvey Reid. To be honesty with you, I don't know much about Autosharp, however, I do know I love this video.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

As you all know I work for a fabulous fashion designer, Michael Kors.  This year Michael and his fabulous creative team came up with the most wonderful Mothers Day tribute I have ever seen, A Legacy in Style: Michael & Joan Kors.  (Be sure to click the link to check it out.  Simply fabulous is the only way to describe it.)  Then today he topped it off with the debut of "The Mothers Day Album" on facebook. A few weeks back we were asked at work to submit stores and or pictures about our mothers. I was pretty bummed as I was in Mexico at the time (for work) and wasn't able to submit.  Still I wanted to share with you the fabulous tribute that was pulled together at Michael Kors as well as a little something for my Mother.

Dedicated to my amazing mother Sandi...

My mom truly is my hero.  She is an extraordinary woman who has been through so much in her life but still manages to always put her kids first and be the best mother that she can be.  Before I was born my mother was a Police Officer in Bakersfield, Ca.  The very first woman police officer to be exact.  At 5'5, 100lbs she truly was tiny but mighty, a spirit which she still processes to this day.  There wasn't anything she couldn't do.  To tell her no, was something that inspired her to succeed.  After getting married and become pregnant with me she quit working on the field and moved inside the police station as a 911 dispatcher.  Four years later she had my sister... then shortly after that our world changed.  My parents got divorced and my mom became a single mother over night.  Over the years she has never lost focus of whats most important to her and that is her children.  I never once felt like I was missing out on anything in life as my mother played both the mother and father role perfectly.  Fast forward to now; she is a single mother to three wonderful young adults and is still the one person I want to call when something goes wrong and first person I want to talk to when something wonderful happens.  She is my rock. I love her so much and I know that I don't tell her that enough, but I do. She has made me the person I am today.  We have been through so much and through it all she has show me unconditional love and how to be a strong independent woman; for that I am forever grateful.

I love you mom!!!
