Lion King on Broadway - 27th Birthday Celebration

The weekend before Thanksgiving my guy surprised me with the best birthday gift ever... Tickets to see Lion King on Broadway! I have been dying to see this show ever since it hit broadway, many years ago, so you can imagine, I was beyond excited! First birthday together and he did good, really good!!! Check out my Lion King appropriate MICHAEL KORS zebra print sequin dress above (click here for details)... Not like I ever needed a reason to wear sequins...

I wasn't allowed to take pictures during the show...which is usually something I would ignore, but there was no way I was risking missing all the action. So with that said, all photos from hear on out are borrowed from broadway.com

The show was truly breathtaking; from the costumes...

to the characters...

to the opening scene, which I like to recreate at random moments (almost missed due to traffic on 45th street, thank God we didn't).

The way the costume design was able to create life like safari animals was the best use of imagination I have seen with my own two eyes.

But they didn't do it alone...

The preformers played a huge roll in making the animals come to life!

It truly was an amazing experience, one that I hope you all get to enjoy one day if you have not already. I heard a rumor that the show may be leaving broadway soon, something to keep in mind when making you Santa Wish List this year.

Next show on my must see list.... WICKED!!! Santa, can you hear me?

These days I seem to spend more time up in the clouds than down on the ground and I don't mind it one bit. I love traveling, mainly because I love adding to my ever growing sky miles collection... I'm saving up for a few exotics trips in 2012. Honesty I just consider myself blessed to be able to not only love what I do for a living but to be able to travel the country and sometimes even out of the country all while getting paid to do so. I'm planing to enjoy this ride as long as I can. Sweet dreams from Hollywood!

Even Wonder Woman Needs a Break...

It has been quite a while since I have set down and put together a blog post. There are many reasons as to why... Travel, work load, new relationships, old relationships, etc. however I despise when people say "I just don't have time", so I'm not going to say that. I am a firm believer that we all have the time to do the things we want to do, it's just a matter of how we choose to spend it. These last few months rather I'm just going to say I needed a break, a chance to regroup, refocus, and reenergize. I like to think I can do it all.. Travel the world, live a balanced life, etc. and you know what, I can! Even Wonder Woman needs a break once in a while and then it's back to saving the world, one bad guy at a time. With that said, I am back to tending to Fairytale Wishes and Dreams. Blogging makes me happy and gives me a creative outlet which so many of us desperately need. Although what I do on a daily basis is very creative it can also be stressful but with blogging it's all about what I want to do, what I want to discuss, and what I want to share. So stay turned there are many more wishes and dreams that I would love to share with you all. Thanks for sticking around.

Long Weekend Getaway!

With Memorial Day coming up I can't help but think I should be planning a little getaway to some far away (undisclosed) location. With a nice four day weekend from work, it seems like the perfect time! I have been traveling so much the last three months for work you would think the last thing on my mind would be to travel again... but its the exact opposite. The more I travel for work, the more I desire to travel somewhere fun and exciting, and yes, far, far, away...

Now I just have to decide where to go for 4-5 days... any ideas?

The Kennedy's - Beyond Excited!!!

I am beyond excited for the mini series The Kennedy's... I grew up being obsessed with their family and the Kennedy Administration, probably because my mom was as well. I have read so many books that relate to JFK & Jackie, both fact and fiction and I can't wait to see how this mini serious compares. Especially since it is said to be very close to the truth. So much so that the Kennedy family tried to ban it from ever hitting the air. Well unfortunately for them and fortunate for us, it aired tonight, the first two of 8 episodes, on Reelz Channel. If you missed it, don't worry the first two will air again tomorrow night at 8pm, then get ready for #3, its airs Tuesday!

On another note is Katie Holmes stunning. She completely embodies Jackie Kennedy and Greg Kinnear is the spitting image of JFK. Hats off to the casting team, job well done!

Its no surprise, I love Sunday's. The smell of fresh flowers from the market, pretty girls dressed in their Sunday best, strolls in the park, the possibilities are endless. Today is the first Sunday of April, which excites me in so many ways. The sun is out shinning and Spring has arrived, which means the flowers are a bloom and the pastels are a plenty. Hello my lovely readers, I hope I haven't lost too many of you! I know it's been quite awhile since my last post, but I must say the world of Fallon has been a crazy one. I have been quite busy since we last spoke. Lets see, I learned how to make French macarons, flew a teeny tiny little plan over Hartford, CT, dropped on my little pup in San Francisco before heading to La La Land and Orange County... next stop is DC. So as you can see life has been busy. Fun and exciting, but busy nonetheless. But I can tell you this while it has been awhile, I'm back and have lots to share, so hopefully at least a few of you have stuck around.

Speaking of "awhile".... I sure has been awhile since I have taken my bicycle out for a ride and with the nice sunshine ad mild weather we are having in NYC today I think I might have to show him some love today! I can't wait for Spring to officially be here, when every day is perfect and I can ride my bicycle all weekend long!

Dreaming of foggy mornings...

Growing up in Northern California, fog was something we experienced quite often. I remember when I was little and we would make the 4hr drive down to my Grandma's and there would be times when we couldn't even see the hood of the car, the fog was so thick. It was scary & exciting all at the same time. There is something about fog that is so mysterious and romantic. Fog can make you feel like you stepped into a 1930's mystery set in London on a raining night. In my opinion, foggy nights are what dreams are made of & foggy mornings are the icing on the cake.

All About Neutral's - Golden Globe Fashion 2011

I have to admit that when it comes to awards shows, the Golden Globes are kind of a bore for me. I watched for all of five minutes, before I had to switched to Desperate Housewives for a little Sunday night entertainment. However, I have always been and will always be a fan of the red carpet!

There were for sure a few stand out trends for the night "Lady in Red", "Green With Envy", "Sexy in Black" but my favorite had to be the lovely ladies that were "All About Neutral"! My favorite of the night was Anne Hathaway wearing Armani... sleeves, backless and sparkles! Need I say more.... She looked absolutely stunning.

Sandra Bullock looked age appropriate, wearing Jenny Packham. Lea Michele seems to have found a silhouette & designer that works for her, wearing Oscar de la Renta. Jennifer Lopez, looked like a modern day princess, wearing Zuhair Murad. Dianna Agron had a slight Old Hollywood glam feel, wearing J. Mendel. Scarlett Johansson wearing Elie Saab. Not what you would typically expect but it works in her favor. Then there was Emma Stone wearing Calvin Klein rocking a very understated look, the true definition of "simple chic".

Truly Inspiring! " A digital park bench"...

After watching this 10min mini documentary on"A Visual Life" on The Sartorialist, I was in complete aww! This is the most inspiring video I have watched in a long time! I assume you are all familiar with The Sartorialist, but if not, even more the reason to watch this mini film as you will soon never forget. Scott Schuman is a true visionary and we as in the blog world and fashion world alike are lucky to have him. He compares his blog to "a digital park bench" from which you can visit daily and people watch, no matter where you are in the world. For anyone who is creative and especially for anyone who is trying to create their own "digital park bench", "A Visual Life" is a must see. Do yourself a favor and take 10mins out of your day and get inspired! I promise, its worth it!

Now I just need to figure out how I can get on The Sartorialist? A girl can dream, right?!... If like me you dream of being approached by Scott one day and not because he needs you to move out of his shot, then read below. It just might land you a spot on The Sartorialist one day, you never know. ;)

Yarn & Needles.... Christmas Holiday Hobby

Knitting, crocheting, which ever you fancy... playing with yarn has become some what of a Christmas holiday hobby for me. For the past few years, when I go home for Christmas, my first stop always seems to be to pick up some new yarn at the local craft store. This holiday was no different, except for the fact that I started a little before the holiday this year.

I am totally in love with this knitting editorial for Vogue Girl Korea, October 2010 via dustjacket attic , which served a my inspiration. But lately I have to admit I have been way more in to crochet. It sounds a little more old lady I know, but it just seems to work better for me and if it works for you then that's all that matters.

Here is a pic of my latest creation, which I am super proud of! I crocheted this lovely beauty using three different yarns, crocheted as one. In then made it long enough to wrap around twice and secured it with four real wood buttons to create a cowl effect. I also secured the inside with clear buttons to keep it all in tack. I think it turned out rather lovely, for an amateur! What do you think?

Well my birthday is this Sunday and honestly I can't wait for the weekend for the simple fact that I will get to rest. I can feel a cold coming on and Im fighting it with all that I have. So this weekend I decided to go on a little "Autumn Adventure" with my pup Frankie. We started off in Boreum Hill, Brooklyn, headed down to the Brooklyn Promenade, over to the BK Bridge then down by the water, through DUMBO, to the Farmers Market, through Downtown BK then back home. All it all we had a wonderful day which you can see documented in the photos above. I love taking pics of my little Frankie, he's such a good model don't you think?

I came across these suede shorts while at Lenox mall last week in Atlanta and fell head over heels for them, but at $198 I couldn't justify making the purchase. I must say though that the minute they go on sale the shorts are mine! Unless of course they come my way via a gift... if so size small please! And who wouldn't want a pair of burnt orange tights to layer with their Fall wardrobe. I mean seriously, what a nice alternative to black.

It just so happened that I signed on to twitter tonight and there was a posting from @MsUnreliable about the coolest idea ever... so I had to click and boy am I glad I did! I found these fabulous pair of boots are Target last week for only $49.99. There real leather, a GREAT color and super comfortable. Need I say more. These are for sure a must and if you feel like splurging the Anthro option look great as well and I'm sure either have some really cool lining or come in a fabulous box.

The Inspiration Behind "Just The Way You Are"...

Pretty much every morning I "Jump Start" my day with VH1... so its no surprise when their top favorites become my favorites. One of my current ones being "Just the way you are" by Bruno Mars. First of all its such a simple, beautiful song, how could any girl not love it. We all at one point or another wished that some guy would come along and write us a song about how beautiful we are (we'll at least I do) and then sing it to us while creating a portrait of us out of the tape from an old cassette... ? Huh? a cassette tape. How did that fall into the fantasy? Well, if you have seen the video then you would know exactly what I am talking about. Song aside, the images created from the cassette table are my FAVORITE part of the video. I was in awe watching them come to life each time it came on. So much in awe that I HAD to find out more. So I did.

The video was inspired by an extremely talented young artist, Erika Iris Simmons from St. Louis. She creates these amazing pieces of art from recycle cassette tape and 8mm film. A true visionary! Her website describes her art a blend between conceptual art, craft making and pop culture. Straight from her 'about me' on her site... "there is always a hidden world to be found seemingly mundane". Anthropologie Opens Accessories Only Shop!!!

I just found out via StyleList that Anthropologie will be opening their very 1st Accessories only shop and I couldn't be more thrilled. The store is set to open October 29th in Chevy Chase, MD and will carry accessories and 50% footwear. How exciting! Anthro always has the best accessories, I cant imagine a store devoted to just that! And shoes.... oh my... you usually can only get those online so this will be a real treat. My next trip to DC will for sure have to include a stop by Chevy Chase to check this out.

Above is my current "accessories must haves" from Anthropologie. Hopefully they will all be stocked in the store once it opens.

I am mid-air as you read this headed to San Francisco. I have a shop to install for work and then will be spending the weekend at my moms before heading back to NY on Tuesday. Although I am currently on a delta flight racking up the miles as I'm almost at Gold Status, I personal would love to travel back in time and take a cross country train ride to SF. Im mean the wardrobe alone that a trip like this would entail would be worth it.

I think I'll close my eyes now for the remainder of the flight and dream of yesteryears and moments like this.

Its like a whimsical day caught on film. Well another week is upon us and I for one am thrilled. This Friday Im heading to San Francisco for work, which means I will be staying the weekend with my family and picking up my little pup Frankie who has been spending the last month with Grandma due to all of my recent traveling. I cant wait to see my little one, I miss him so much. It has been way too quite around the apartment without him. Although with my recent schedule I am glad he's been at Grandmas where he can get the attention he deserves.

So with the fabulous week ahead I thought I would share with you my Runway wish list featuring one designer and five looks from any current or future season that I would like to be wearing this week. Im currently loving Rebecca Taylor's Fall 2010 line, especially these five looks featured above. Everything about it is so perfect. The colors, the textures, the laid back luxury! Im going to try to recreate at least one of these looks with my current wardrobe and will be on the hunt for a pair of wide leg gray pants just like these!

Sunday (Autumn) Afternoons... Pumpkin Pop-tarts!

The crispness has arrived, my boots and scarves are back in heavy rotation, and that can only mean one thing Autumn has arrived, my favorite time of the year and not just because my birthday happens to fall in November. Even if that weren't so I still think I would love Fall. Its such a beautiful season filled with so many wonderful, beautiful, happy things. Pumpkins being one of them! Have I ever mentioned before how much I LOVE pumpkin. The smell is incredible, the taste is divine, I simply can not get enough. I think my love affair with pumpkin started when I had my first pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks many years ago. Since if pumpkins in it you can bet I will give it a try.

So it was no surprise when I found myself spending hours late one night on the internet looking up "pumpkin recipes" and to my surprise there were SO many. On one site alone there were 47 pages filled with pumpkin recipes. Of course there was the traditional pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheese cake, but then when pumpkin chili, pumpkin lasagna, pumpkin enchiladas and pumpkin pop-tarts popped up, I became giddy with excitement. I knew I had to try many if not all of the recipes that I found! So today I made my first two, pumpkin pop-tarts (click here for the receipe) and pumpkin lasagna and I had to share one of them with all of you.

I was so pleased with how both turned out. It was such a fun experience and they turned out SUPER yummy! The pop-tarts were super easy and would be a great activity to do with the little ones. Also if your a bit adventurous like me you will for sure want to try out this pumpkin lasagna recipe. It was truly amazing! After the day I had my apartments smells fabulous! Ahhh.... I love Autumn & I love Sundays!

"Make it Work"

The last few days have been pretty intense for me as I plan, prepare, and execute our Spring 2011 Visual Guideline shoot at work. This time of year (which happens every 3 months) is the craziest most intense 4 days ever, but it is also my favorite part of my job. During this time my creative is always tested while I try to "make it work" as Tim Gunn would say. It's nice to have a challenge, especially when the end result is successful. The above photo I think is a great reminder of what this week really means to me. Its the "moment" that is captured and meant to convey a certain perspective. Amongst all the craziness that is this week, its nice to be able to sit back for a moment and think, I have a job that I love doing. One that continues to not only challenge me, but that allows me creative freedom, the the ability make an impact, and above all one that I truly do love. Not many can say that. I'm a lucky girl!

The second issues of Sweet Paul launched last week and is overflowing with fabulous fall inspired yummy-ness! My favorite feature was for sure "Enchanted Forest". The table setting, swoon! The food, YUM! and the outdoor location, fantasy come true! I wish I had an excuse to recreate this lovely enchanted forest including all of the goodies of course. I may just have to come up with one.

Above is my favorite recipe featured, Fall Roasted Chicken Pies. I'm filing this away to make mid Oct. once my travel schedule calms down. If you make it before then, please let me know how it turns out.

From The Runway: Cynthia Rowley, Spring 2011

Cynthia Rowley never disappoints. For her Spring 2011 bubble cutouts were everywhere! In a few looks its even borderline sexy, which is not something we usually see from Cynthia. However with the length of the garments and the overall styling what could be sexy is transformed in to whimsical which is quintessential Cynthia Rowley. I would wear look #2 & #3 exactly as is. I love the embellished bubbles done on the shorts and as the waist of the extremely well fitting pants. Both looks are very faltering. Look #1, #4 & #5 I would have to have shortened a bit... being 5'3 this mid calf length can go from chic to eek very quickly! Right above is a much better option. Then I would add a cami under look #1 and loosen up the blouse on look #4 and I would be good to go!

The color palette really is amazing! Navy, Beeswax*, Lavender, Ecru & Silver Cloud*! Love! I might need to add this in to my future home decor or at least incorporate in to my Spring wardrobe.

Above is the latest stop motion animation that I have come across that I had to share with all of you. Its for a Target commercial in Australia and has me completely smitten! The concept its "every color you can dream of". I hope you like it as much as I do. I must go and get a good night sleep to prep for the week ahead. I was in Charlotte, NC this past week where I stopped by Kate Spade at Southpark. I love shopping in the Kate Spade store as there's always so many treasures to be found and this trip did not disappoint. I have always been a fan of adding a touch of whimsey to your outfit, so its not surprise that I fell for these fabulous "book" of the month clutch by Kate Spade. Inspired by a classic novel and topped off with a clasp top closure, these clutches are sure to not disappoint. Of course it doesn't hurt that they chose "Great Expectations" & "The Great Gatsby", two of my absolute favs!

20's, 30's & 40's... Louis Vuitton Has You Covered!

Pictured above from left to right... Natalie Vodianova, 28; Karen Elson, 31; Christy Turlington, 41; Three equally gorgeous woman all at different stages in their life, yet Louis Vuitton appeals to them all. Ever since I first came across this ad a few months ago, I was intrigued. But it wasn't until now that I really though about what there Fall Camping really represented. Typically Louis Vuitton is not a brand that appeals to me. I HATE logos! Which is a huge part of what LV represents (although I would love the Damier print), but then this ad came along and I all of a sudden was coveting LV? For one the classic silhouettes and timeless colors appealed to me not only in the design of the handbags but in the overall feeling the models in the ad's presented. I think I was more drawn to the bags because of the girls wearing it. These ad's make you want to be that sophisticated, well dressed "Mad Men" type, well at least thats what they did for me. I also was very impressed with how they chose to target such a wide range of consumers by featuring three beautiful models covering the 20's, 30's and 40's age groups. What a perfect representation of their brand! A+ in my opinion! I will be saving this in my Fall 2010 inspiration files for future projects to come.

Pre Fall Fashion Inspiration

Fall is my favorite time of the year! The crisp cool air, the colorful leaves, the pumpkin spice lattes, boots, these are all a few of my favorite things, above all though "Fall Fashion" is really what makes it all worth it. I came across this picture of Carrie from Sex & The City (forgive me but I can't remember where I saw it) but none the less this photo inspired me! I love everything about Carrie's outfit and was instantly inspired and ready for the Fall season to begin. The light weight long cardigan, above the knee socks, short motorcycle gloves, patent lace up oxfords and silk print dress make the perfect combination for the transition period from late summer to early fall.

Im already wearing, in my opinion, the perfect pre-fall nail color, ChinChilly by essie, now I just need to go out and (re)create the perfect pre fall outfit! I think I could pull something together once I switch out my closets. I feel a weekend project coming on!

The second and 4th look would even work well with black tights and a tight turtleneck underneath. A sleek blazer over look on and five would be an excellent choice. This is the story of a group of not so ordinary children, who came to school and had a not so ordinary day....

I came across this lovely Fairytale for Ralph Lauren's Fall 2010 Children's Collection titled The RL Gang: A Fantastically Amazing School Adventure. Whoever was the mastermind behind this project is a genius! It is the cutest little thing I have ever seen. The story follows a group of children on their first day of school. We all know how the first day of school is really all about "your first day of school outfit", which plays a big roll in the story. I also love how the children are featured in a real life watercolor painted storybook land, which really adds to the overall Fairytale setting.

The story centers on one fabulous group of children. They are super cute , the style is impeccable, and there names are ones to envy! Below are my four favorite looks from the story from Willow, Zoe, Jasper & Hudson. Hudson with his Grandpa's vintage camera is totally my favorite, but shhh, don't tell the other kids I wouldn't want them to get jealous!

In theory a shrug, a skirt and a sweatshirt are all very simple items, but then I discovered Leilanni Land and they became so much more. In Leilanni Land a simple shrug is transformed into a cocoon cardi-cape in black and while chiffon, $120; a basic pull-over in magically changed into a pointy sleeve sweatshirt in heather gray fit for a superhero, $45; and a basic skirt becomes a sexy elastic cage skirt with underlining, on sale for $84. I mean seriously, Its clear to see that Leilanni has a knack for making the ordinary look extraordinary.

Gossip Girl Season 4 Premier In Paris!!!

With the Season 4 premier of Gossip Girl only two weeks away, I cant help but count down the days until we can all be inspired by the fabulous outfits Serena and Blair are sure to wear. Oo, la, la, spotted, Serena in a fab gold lame jacket and royal blue pants! Or my favorite look, the coral wide legs, oatmeal shear tank, sage green stone necklace and fedora! While the story line has gotten crazy, but sadly enough still realistic, the fashion is the real reason I watch the show. I like to think of myself as a nice mix between Blair and Serena! Then theirs the new girl (bottom left) I can't remember her name but he style is fab!

Currently Coveting: NECKLUSH

So I thought I would start off the week with an item I am currently coveting, Necklush. I mean seriously, how fabulous are these scarfs?! But wait, there way more cooler than any old scarf, its a Necklush, working double duty as both a scarf and a stylish necklace. My favorite are the Necklush Ultra version (featured above, bottom right) which feature more strands and are thicker around the neck, but I cant get enough of the colors & patterns used in the others featured above. With Fall just around the corner I MUST have one. And even better, their handmade in Brooklyn! What more could a girl ask for?

Now the problem lays, in which to choose... Im thinking I will go with the leopard one, top middle one, but then again I really want them all. Although I was a bit underwhelmed in terms of the overall fashion statement at the 2010 Emmy's, we must admit when was the last time we were actually overwhelmed at an awards show? None the less I still like to keep hope alive. Above are my favorite picks form the ladies that I saw. Once I pulled them all together I found that of the six I liked they all fell in to one of two trends that seemed to be occurring on the red carpet, so I grouped them as such. I have to say my #1 would have to be January Jones, for the simple fact that she took a risk. I love the color, the volume and the texture of the dress she choose, her new shoulder length bob was a winner too! Well done ladies!

Happy Tuesday everyone!!! I'm currently mid flight headed to San Diego for work... gotta love gogo in flight wifi. My favorite part about flying is looking out the window imaging I am floating in air, bouncing from cloud to cloud. I love beautiful, cotton candy-esq clouds for one reason and one reason only the daydreaming possibilities are endless. Since floating in the clouds is highly unlikely, the next best thing would be a hot air balloon right. Oh, to float above the clouds, high up in the sky in a beautifully colored balloon propelled by hot air. It just sounds magically!

I must say that if a boy really wanted to impress me, a date in a hot air balloon would be a great place to start! I hope you all have a wonderful day! If you get a moment, look up to the clouds and wave hello *smile*

So Much To Do, So Little Time

Hello everyone, long time no see! I know its my fault, I seemed to become MIA basically since the beginning of the year. Things in Fallonland have been pretty crazy since then and well I hate to attempt it but my pretty little Fairytale suffered because of it. Sorry if you felt a bit abandoned, please know that I still thought about all of you often! I just simply didn't have the energy to come home after a 12+ hr day at work and share my wishes & dreams. Of course that most certainly doesn't not mean that I stopped wishing and dreaming all together, that would just be pure craziness! My wishes & dreams were still alive and kicking I just never seemed to find the moment to be able to share them. That is until now! Things in Fallonland are still JUST as crazy, in fact maybe even more so since traveling season is picking up again. But I have vowed to try my hardest to balance work, play and my blog, because I really do love it and it really does bring me joy! So this week, Im back! and better than ever. I have a post lined up for you each day so stay tuned as I promise nothing short of pure fabulousness for the week ahead. Miss Fallon is jumping back on the horse and making it all happen. So even though I have a lot of my plate at the moment... Im stacking them high and taking it one day at a time! Honestly I thrive in this sort of madness... and I wouldn't have it any other way!

By the way, Im so excited to be so close to having 100 followers! I know it doesn't sound like much, considering most blogs admire/aspire to be have 1,000 - 4,000 easily, but hey its a start. Im just flattered that 81 people have chosen share in my Fairytale Wishes & Dreams and I just want to make them proud. In honor of tonights episode of MADMEN, I bring you Christina Hendricks aka. Joan Holloway, who in my opinion is absolutely stunning! Her fire red hair, pale skin, bodacious curves and deep blue eyes are top notch. She is everything and 1960's bombshell should be. The roll of Joan Holloway was made for her! I can't wait to see what happens to Don Drapper and the gang this week! Heading to make my self a cocktail now so I'm fully prepared.

J.Crew is giving me everything this season, I just can't seem to get enough. The Marinete Feather Jacket above, it to die for! Now if only I could figure out how I could justify spending $1,200 on a jacket. I am totally feeling J.Crew's Fall 2010 collection. The mix of textures, the subdued color palette and all that textures. I mean seriously, I see sequins, silk, fur, tweed, leather, fleece, velvet and hats galore. What more could a girl ask for!

The fall collection for J.Crew was a sorta "Edie Beal Goes To Summer Camp" inspiration, so says Jenna, J.Crews creative director. Its military inspired but with more of a girl scout feel! I cant find one thing I don't like about it. In fact, Im having trouble narrowing down my selections. All I know is I must have the sequin skirt, MUST HAVE for sure.

Lauren Moffatt: Fall 2010

I had never heard of Lauren Moffatt before until reading the recent issue of Lonny Magazine. Let me just say it was love at first site. The way her Fall line is styled is what really drew me in. I love the mix of fabrics, patterns and colors. Being born and raised in Northern California I have always been a fan of layering! The school girl chic vibe was also a nice touch. This season, I vow to try the whole sock and heel combo and I plan to actually pull it off. Stay tuned...

How To Dress For Success... Edith Head

I came across these amazing illustrations on while browsing LiveJournal here and immediately rushed to amazon.com and purchased the book How To Dress For Success by Edith Head. I simply had to have it for my collection. Edith Head is one of the greatest costume designers of all time with some of the greatest films of all time under her belt, including my all time favorite's Funny Face and Breakfast at Tiffany's. She was sought after by most of the leading ladies of the 40's & 50's including Ginger Rogers, Bette Davis, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn. I mean that's SOME track record if you ask me. Edith Head was an amazing women who could make the ordinary, extraordinary!

She sure had a lot of wisdom to share as well, my favorite being... "You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it". Working in the fashion industry I can tell you know truer words have ever been spoken.

I can hardly contain my excitement for the MADMEN season 4 premiere TONIGHT on AMC. In honor of the season premiere I wanted to share with all of you, MADMEN meets Barbie. How I missed this when it debuted earlier this year, I have no idea. The barbie versions of Betty, Don, Joan, and Roger look absolutely fab and right on character. Now if only I could justify spending $75 each on a Barbie Doll...

I'm totally loving the hue Olive right now... maybe its all the military influences seen on the Fall runways, but I simply just can't get enough. "I Love Hue" is a new feature you can come to expect on FWD where I will feature an outfit centered around a Hue I'm totally loving at the moment. And since the things I love are constantly changing, I Love Hue will be a very random feature that may happen several times a month, but at the very least, you can come to expect it once a month.

50 years, 50 Great Moments for Woman

In celebration of the 50 years since The Pill was introduced to woman Daily Candy and Bayer's Celebration of Woman's Empowerment have teamed up to celebrate Woman everywhere. They ask the questions, "what will you do?", "what are your dreams?" as part of a contest to help make them a reality. Unfortunately the contest has come to an end, but I still think these are questions that we as woman should be asking ourselves everyday. I can't wait to see the results of the contest. So I know I'm a tad late on letting all of you know how much I LOVE Beyonce's new Video "Why Don't you Love Me", I mean lets face it, I have been a bit late on everything lately. I could give you the same excuses.. work is crazy, yadda, yadda, yadda. But instead of doing that I'm jsut going to stuck it up and still post all of the fabulous things I have been meaning to, those things that have been piling up in my inspiration file on my desktop in hopes that you will still love it. I mean look at the bright side, by now you probably forgot all about this video and now its like I'm bringing it back, or so I hope.

So back to the topic at hand. Beyonce introduces her 2nd or is it 3rd (I can't keep up) alter ego, B.B. Homemaker in her latest video "Why Don't You Love Me" and I must say... the song I could take it or leave it but the VIDEO I could watch over and over again. I love the 1950's sitcom theme complete with 50's housewife, vintage cars, voice overs and theme music. I simply can't get enough. I'm loving the look!
